My client is a dynamic, cutting-edge media company and they are expanding rapidly as millions of readers drive growth for their website, weekly e-newsletters, and magazine.

They offer the casual work environment of a small company, but has the opportunities and benefits only available in larger media conglomerates including health insurance, 401K, and 3 weeks paid vacation per year! They are seeking driven, hard-working, and career-oriented individuals to join their winning team.

They have a homegrown mail solution right now, based on Postfix, Perl, and MySQL. With around a dozen Linux boxes they send out at around 1M per hour with a total volume of 50-60M per month. The guy who built the system still handles operations but is employed elsewhere and helps them as a consultant. They're looking to bring this role in house.

So what I'm really looking for here is an old school Linux geek who really knows the command line with the specific experience outlines below. You will need to have somewhat of a flexible schedule since they do send email out on Sunday.

Must-haves are:
1) experience administering postfix; preferably in some role that involved administering an email server (non-bulk is fine)
2) Perl programming; senior enough know about fork() and daemon processes
3) Linux AND fast with text processing commands (cut, grep, awk, etc)
4) MySQL
5) Pretty strong on the systems side: knows about file descriptors/limits, pipes and how to profile system bottlenecks (knows how to use iostat)
