I think you have a good idea going here. However when we talk to a lot of ordinary windows users about Linux, they don't understand that they are paying for windows.

We introduce a lot of people to free software at the application level and let them run the windows versions of Open Office. Which gets free software in their operation and lets them get comfortable using it.

When our clients are interested in setting up Web Services, Remote Access to Information for their employees or anything that regular windows can't do , then we compare Linux to Windows Server Software. Giving them an obvious cost savings when they find out how much Window Server costs. Nobody is including Windows Server in the price of any new equipment at the street level in some big box store.

I say again, that I agree 100% with leveraging the current state of the economy to sell ordinary people on the idea of using GNU/Linux and Free Software Applications. Just wanted to share some of the things we are up against here in Cocoa Beach/Orlando Florida.
