I mentioned at the meeting that DebConf10 is happening the first week of August, in NYC. The Debian Conference is the annual Debian developers meeting, an event filled with coding parties, discussions and workshops - all of them highly technical in nature. The website can be found here:

It also includes Debian day, a full day of talks on several subjects such as free software in government, design and free software, free software advocacy as well as string of talks about the Debian project and operating system. This is designed for less technical users who are interested in how Debian can help them.
